Kerry D. Friesen, MD
Originally from Ontario Canada, Dr. Friesen has more than 30 years experience in the areas of health promotion and disease prevention. He has been in private practice as an Internal medicine physician for more than twenty years and is an avid blogger, writer and patient advocate.
Dr. Friesen graduated from Queen's University Faculty of Medicine and completed postdoctoral training jointly at Wright State University School of Medicine and Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. While at Kettering Medical Center he was awarded the Albert A. Brust award for “Excellence in Internal Medicine.” He graduated summa cum laude in 1987.
In addition, Dr. Friesen is a Member of the Neuroscience Education Institute, the Psychoneuroimmunology Research Society and holds a Master Certificate in Psychopharmacology. In 2015 he was voted "Top Doctor" by the International Association of Internists and is listed as a Leading Physician of the World.
His independent medical research interests include Nutritional Neuroscience, Personalized Medicine, Working Memory Training and Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Medicine and mental health and brain optimization.
As a Qualified Cogmed Practitioner and a member of the Neuroleadership Institute, he offers Executive, Wellness and Corporate Coaching from a neuroscience perspective.
Dr. Friesen developed “Lipids4Life”, a lifestyle-based, non-pharmacologic approach to cholesterol management and heart disease prevention.
Currently, Dr. Friesen is the Medical Director, Chief Science Officer and Lead Consultant at the Friesen Center in Chattanooga TN. He lectures frequently on the role of the brain in accelerated aging, heart health, and weight reduction.
In 2017, Dr. Friesen established the Ketamine Klinic at The Friesen Center providing access for hundreds of patients to ketamine infusion therapy for the treatment of OCD, PTSD, Treatment-Resistant Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson's Disease and more.
In 2009 Dr. Friesen joined the Personal Genome Project (PGP), a research study based at Harvard Medical School and led by Dr. George Church. Dr. Friesen became the 97th person in the world to undergo whole-genome sequencing (Steve Jobs was number 20). Participation in the Personal Genome Project became the driving force behind his interest in personalized medicine, "precision nutrition" and lifestyle genomics.
Dr. Friesen’s unique perspective of “genome-informed” medicine is the foundation for his revolutionary diagnostic and treatment protocols that form the scientific basis for his approach to anti-aging and age-delay medicine.
